Extreme Activities in New Zealand

Are you an adrenaline junkie looking for an action packed adventure? Look no further than the extreme activity offerings of New Zealand….

Bungee Jumping

New Zealand isn’t known as the bungee capital for no reason. There are a number of different jumps, including the country’s highest bungee at the top of Nevis (in Queenstown) or at the original Kawaru bungee. For a slightly different experience you can also bungee jump from Auckland Harbor Bridge or Taupo. Jump solo or as a tandem with a friend and choose a dry jump or a partially, or even fully submerged into water jump. What an experience!

Paragliding and Gliding

Paragliding, or also known as paraplenting, is a popular activity available throughout New Zealand. Similar to hang gliding and parachuting, Paragliding is easier to learn and try due to the lower wind speeds needed to keep up and going. You also have the option of flying tandem with an experienced glider if you would prefer.

Allianz Travel - Rafting

Rafting

New Zealand has a large amount of short, fast flowing rivers perfect for all types of rafting experiences. Choose from the highest, commercially rafted waterfall in the world in Rotorua or gentler rafting rivers, the choice is yours. Rivers are marked in grades with grade 1’s being the gentlest up to the extreme sport level of grade 5. Another option is to try black water rafting through underground caves.

Skydive

Are you considering doing your first sky dive? Or been before and want another amazing, heart pumping thrill? Then sky diving in New Zealand will not let you down. The beautiful scenery of the islands is best viewed from above. Book onto a tandem sky dive for those new to the activity or if you are trained there are plenty of solo dives available.

Caving

As motioned in the rafting section, underground black water rafting is popular in New Zealand, as well as dryer walking caving. New Zealand offers challenging yet stunning caving systems, popular to many all over the world. If you are experienced in caving you can experience these yourself, or you can take a guided tour.

It goes without saying that if you are looking for adventure, New Zealand should be at the top of your list of places to visit.
