You could argue that the view from the slopes is almost as enjoyable as skiing on them.

Kitzbuehel is a small medieval town located in Tyrol along the river Kitzbuhler. It is also one of the most famous Austrian winter holiday resorts.
The small town area includes a total of 215km of ski slopes, as well as multiple winter hiking paths and cross country ski tracks. This gives you plenty of opportunities to take yourself out of the town and enjoy the glorious views that the surrounding areas have to offer.
St. Mortiz is a glossy and luxurious town in the South East of Switzerland near the border with Italy. It has a number of five star hotels and fancy jewelers, but take yourself off up into the mountains and all this slides away in favor of the incredible views.
St. Mortiz has hosted the Winter Olympics twice and has a number of other things to do outside of skiing, including a world championship bobsled run made of natural ice and an outdoor Olympic ice rink.
One would argue that the view of frozen Lake Louise to the Victoria Glacier is one of the most stunning views you may ever see.
The Fairmount Chateau Lake Louise sits to one end of the Lake with many rooms offering the same incredible views for you to enjoy for your stay.
The Ski slopes are a short bus ride away and set in the Banff National Park. The slopes in the Lake Louise area offer green, blue and black runs from the top of every lift.
Heavenly spans the California and Nevada boarders and is possibly the most beautiful place to ski in the USA.
With contrasting views over the huge Lake Tahoe to the Californian side and the Nevada ‘desert’ to the other, this truly is a unique location.
This area offers excellent tree skiing areas that you do not get in the Alps. There is also Apres-ski in Heavenly, as well as casinos that include cheap hotel rooms.
Set right along the borders of France, Switzerland and Italy, Chamonix is set at the base of the Mount Blanc Glacier.
Sitting at 4810m, Mount Blanc is Europe’s highest summit and the views can be admired from the ski areas opposite.
This is a town isn’t just for the winter but for year round visits, with cable cars taking visitors up to several of the peaks to admire the views in the summer months also.
If you are planning on booking a skiing holiday you MUST make sure you have adequate travel insurance. Many policies do not cover winter sports such as skiing and this being a sport that has a risk of injury, not having this cover could be costly or even fatal.
