  • White water rafting and kayaking
  • Bungee jumping

Adding Sports Cover to your Allianz Travel Insurance is simple and built right into the quote process:

Step 1 - Start Your Travel Insurance Quote

Use the quote tool at the top of this page. Enter your travel dates, destination, and traveller details

Step 2 - Select "Yes" for Sports Cover:

Within the quote bar, you'll be asked "Do you want sports cover?" - Select "Yes" from the dropdown.

Step 3 - Choose Your Plan

You'll then see the available plans - Schengen, Standard, and Premium - all including sports cover with varying levels of limits. Compare the options and choose the one best suited to your needs.

Step 4 - Checkout and Receive Your Certificate Instantly

Complete your secure online payment. Your travel insurance policy documents and certificate are emailed to you immediately.

The Sports Add-on must be added at the time of original purchase. It cannot be added to a policy that has already been issued. If you have already bought a plan without the add-on and your trip involves hazardous activities, you will need to purchase a new policy with the add-on included.

Our optional Sport add-on travel insurance has been designed to protect you if you are engaged in an activity or sport that standard travel insurance excludes. To make things easier for you, here is the list of activities that a standard travel insurance product covers, along with the extra activities the Sport add-on covers.  At Allianz, we  believe in helping our customers understand our products details - if you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Travel insurance usually has exclusions, and at Allianz Travel, we are pleased to offer you the chance to enhance your cover through this Sport add-on.

Travelling can be an exciting time, but planning for the unexpected will give you complete peace of mind and help you fully enjoy your trip.

Allianz travel is with you at every step of your journey, and we hope this extra cover meets your expectations. We encourage you to carefully read the Terms and Conditions before purchasing your travel insurance to make sure you know what’s covered and what’s not covered.

We're here to help! Below are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about our Hazardous Sports Cover Add-On. If you need further assistance or have additional questions, please feel free to reach out to us at travel@nextcarehealth.com. Our team is ready to assist you.

General Information

Hazardous sports travel insurance is an optional add-on to your Allianz Standard or Premium travel insurance policy. Standard travel insurance excludes most adventure and hazardous sports activities. By adding the Sports Add-on to your base policy, you extend your cover to include injuries sustained during those activities, protection for your sporting equipment, and compensation if a pre-booked activity session has to be missed due to a covered reason.

It is not a standalone product. Sports cover is built into the quote process. When you enter your travel details in the quote bar, you will be asked "Do you want sports cover?" — select Yes from the dropdown. You will then see the available plans (Schengen, Standard, and Premium) with sports cover already included at varying levels of limits. Choose the plan best suited to your needs and complete checkout.

Eligibility

Yes. The Sports Add-on is not available to travellers above 65 years old. If you are 65 or younger, you are eligible to add this cover to your Standard or Premium policy. If you are above 65, the add-on cannot be selected at checkout regardless of the activity you are planning. All benefits are subjected to policy terms and conditions.

Absolutely. Adding sports cover to an Annual Multi-Trip policy gives you the ultimate flexibility - you're covered for hazardous sports activities on every trip you take during the entire 12-month policy period. Whether it's a diving trip in March, a rock climbing adventure in July, or white water rafting in October, you're protected on all of them with a single policy. No need to purchase separate cover for each trip, no restrictions between journeys - just complete peace of mind all year round.

Covered Activities

The Sports Add-on covers a wide range of adventure and hazardous activities that are typically excluded from standard travel insurance. This includes popular activities such as skydiving, scuba diving, rock climbing, bungee jumping, white water rafting, off-road motorsports, and many more. The complete list of covered activities can be found here. If your planned activity isn't on the list, we recommend contacting Allianz before purchasing to confirm whether it can be covered.

Yes - skiing and snowboarding are covered. If you're planning a trip to the slopes, the Sports Add-on has you covered. For more specific information about ski and snowboard cover, including what's included and benefit details, visit the dedicated Ski Insurance page.

Benefits & Limits

The Sports Add-on includes two separate equipment benefits:

  • Sporting Equipment: covers owned sporting equipment that is lost, stolen, or damaged during your trip. Standard add-on covers up to $500 per person. Premium add-on covers up to $750 per person.
  • Sporting Equipment Rental: covers the cost of renting replacement gear if your owned equipment is lost or delayed in transit on the outward journey. Standard add-on covers up to $250 per person. Premium add-on covers up to $400 per person.

Both benefits are exclusive to the Sports Add-on and do not exist on the base Standard or Premium plan. All benefits are subjected to policy terms and conditions.

Missed Activity cover pays up to $300 on the Standard add-on and $500 on the Premium add-on if a pre-booked sports session or activity slot has to be missed due to a covered reason, such as an injury or illness during the trip. This applies to activities that were paid for in advance, such as a guided dive session, a skydiving slot, or a scheduled climbing expedition. The specific covered reasons are detailed in the policy terms and conditions.

Both add-ons extend your base policy to cover hazardous sports activities. The difference is in the benefit limits:

  • Emergency Medical Expenses: $250,000 on Standard, $550,000 on Premium
  • Trip Cancellation and Curtailment: $3,000 on Standard, $5,000 on Premium
  • Sporting Equipment: $500 on Standard, $750 on Premium
  • Sporting Equipment Rental: $250 on Standard, $400 on Premium
  • Missed Activity: $300 on Standard, $500 on Premium
  • Baggage Loss: $1,000 on Standard, $2,000 on Premium
  • Personal Liability: $250,000 on Standard, $500,000 on Premium

If you are travelling with high-value sporting equipment or to a destination with high medical costs, the Premium add-on provides meaningfully higher protection across all these benefits. All benefits are subjected to policy terms and conditions.
